Not in a formal interview yet over a casual telephone call. That was the means by which President Rodrigo Duterte offered Vice President Leni Robredo the housing secretary position amidst a media interview at MalacaƱang on Thursday evening.
"Pwede ka housing ma'am? Will you be the housing secretary? Tanggapin mo ma'am?" Duterte asked Robredo via telephone.
Robredo will head the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC), the administration's housing arm beforehand held by previous Vice Presidents Jejomar Binay and Noli De Castro.
In a RTVM video discharged to the media, Duterte conversed with Robredo to "fulfill the inquiries everyone had been asking him."
"Kasi panay na ang tanong. Nahihiya na ako ma'am eh. Nakikinig ang buong bureau ma'am… Alam mo ma'am kasi para mahinto na tong tanong," he told Robredo.
(The inquiry keeps on appearing. I am embarrassed as of now. The entire bureau is tuning in. You know Ma'am, to stop these unlimited inquiries.)
It was misty what Robredo said on the other line however Duterte requested her not be remorseful.
Robredo promptly acknowledged the offer. The President then advised her the Executive Secretary will by and by give her the arrangement request.
Duterte likewise welcomed Robredo to go to the following Cabinet meeting on Monday one week from now.
"So you will be on time with the following Cabinet meeting and even on security matters so you'd be stayed informed, concerning what is occurring to our nation. Only for you to know," he said.
Before Duterte quit conversing with the media, he said in his before meetings he is not enthused about giving Robredo a post in his bureau since it would offend of crushed bad habit presidential competitor and his dear companion Bongbong Marcos.
